Can I join AHIP if I’m eligible for coverage under my spouse’s policy?
No. If you’re eligible for any other group health plan, you may not join AHIP.
Can a child be covered under AHIP without an adult?
Yes.
How can I enroll my family for coverage under the plan?
AHIP does not offer a family policy, but your spouse may enroll under a separate policy and either one of you may enroll your dependent children, but both of you can’t cover them.
How do I know if my doctor participates in AHIP?
You’ll be given a toll-free number to call when you receive your information packet.

Can I enroll in AHIP if I can’t get coverage anywhere else?
No. AHIP is not intended to cover everyone who cannot get health insurance. It is specifically aimed at those who have purchased coverage from their employer and whose benefits have run out.
Can I enroll in AHIP if I’ve been without coverage for 63 or more days?
No.
